Moreover, the event was a valuable opportunity for Ebttikar to meet with clients from various industry sectors, as more than 150 customers visited our stand area to discuss their IT infrastructure requirements. 

Cisco Expo hot topics included IP Communications, Self Defending Networks, Business Ready Data Center, Service Provider Technologies, and Application Oriented Networks among others.

STC and Ebttikar Organize Awards Ceremony for Their Staff

Jointly, Saudi Telecom and Ebttikar Technology organized an Appreciation Awards ceremony, as a recognition for the hard work both teams put in to resolve a major technical issue on the night of Eid Al Adha.

Dr Abdulrahman Al Bader, STC General Manager of Data Network, Mr Sadik Allam STC Director of Data Network Operation and Support, and Dr Abdullah Saeedi the General Manager for Ebttikar, attended the event and congratulated staff from both sides working within the Network Operation and Maintenance Project, for their dedication and commitment.

The unified team included Sultan Al Omar and Mohammed Taj from STC side, Emad Abu Jazar, Mohammad Ayyash, Housam Bayoumi, Badee Nasir, Ehab Al Masri and Hazem Khabbaz from Ebttikar.

ACN Conducts an Interview with Munir Zahra on Outsourcing

Representing a leading market player in Outsourcing, Ebttikar Business Development and Marketing Director, Mr. Munir Zahra was interviewed by Arabian Computer News Magazine last February. Within an article entitled “Sourcing Benefits”, Munir presented his view on outsourcing, its challenges and what should both service providers and customers do in order to realize maximum benefit of outsourcing.

Addressing the importance of having a clear outsourcing strategy by the customers, Munir explains: “outsourcing takes unnecessary pressure off companies, giving them peace of mind to concentrate on their core operations. When you talk about total cost of ownership and costs in the long term, outsourcing is the right solution. It leaves the customer to focus on its core business and leaves the burden and problems of managing to a qualified company. They bring expert skills and this is another benefit”.

“Outsource providers are experienced in certain processes and it helps the company focus on its core activities, however outsourcing is not right for every company. We don’t recommend that every company should outsource its IT services. The company may be too small and in this case outsourcing will not provide the same benefits,” he continues.

In discussing the challenge that cultural and operational integration could provide stumbling blocks for companies looking to operate in the region, Munir comments: “sometimes the culture may not be appropriate and this is one of the many challenges companies are facing these days. They don’t take into consideration the culture integration. We are seeing some companies, in Saudi for example, not being able to engage with a service provider, especially the management, to integrate with people from another company and make sure they work as one team. Companies have to work internally on these issues before they outsource”. 

Ebttikar Technology Organizes First IT Infrastructure Services Roadshow in Saudi

Ebttikar Technology has organized 'Ebttikar Roadshow 2006', the very first event in Saudi focusing on IT Infrastructure Services.

The aim of the event was to raise market awareness on how IT infrastructure became the backbone of efficient business processes, and to bring out the latest on how organizations can achieve greater business success by effectively managing their IT infrastructure operations. Moreover, the event provided an insight on how to address challenges of managing IT infrastructure through Outsourcing, as one of the most effective solutions.

The roadshow was held in Khobar, Riyadh and Jeddah subsequently on 9, 11 and 13 December. More than 155 customers visited the event which included presentations delivered by IT experts from IDC, Symantec, Cisco, Systimax, Quint, B2ITs and of course Ebttikar. The topics covered were IT services trends and challenges, outsourcing services trends and challenges, next generation data centre, standards and frameworks in IT infrastructure, data centre optimization, unified communication solution, network real time management, business continuity planning and data management.

The event was a success as it met its objectives in providing customers with the latest information and best practice methodologies, which would help them making better decisions for deploying and managing their IT infrastructure. 

Ebttikar Roadshow 2006 is the start of more incoming events, in Ebttikar’s endeavor towards enhancing its positioning as a market leader in IT infrastructure services, and maintaining successful relationship with its clients and partners.

Successful Sponsorship of IDC Infrastructure Roadshow

 As a Gold Sponsor, Ebttikar has successfully participated in IDC's IT Infrastructure Road show 2006 which has been held on September 10th at the Four Seasons Hotel, in Riyadh. IDC’s IT Infrastructure was specifically designed to inform and update senior IT professionals on the latest trends and deployment of infrastructure technologies. The conference provided a 360-degree view of IT infrastructure, instead of simply focusing on isolated hardware and software products.

Through its impressive exhibition stand, Ebttikar has presented its solutions, services and experience in the IT Infrastructure domain. Moreover, Ebttikar had excellent presence through the high quality and focused presentation delivered by Mr. Talhah Jarad, Systems, Storage, and Security Solutions Manager. The presentation addressed many concerns and highlighted the challenges faced nowadays by the IT decision makers regarding  IT frameworks and standards. The presentation clarified what the different standards are and what are the common elements among them (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001, BS 7799:2002, ISO/IEC 9001 and ISO/IEC 14001.). It also shed light on COBIT and its application in different environments.
